A formula based on hydrogen peroxide, stabilised with colloidal silver, which has been further developed according to German quality standards and innovatively improved, makes KP-DES® a powerful disinfectant free of chlorine and other harmful substances.
The innovative KP-DES® series combines the complementary effects of two acceptable raw materials. The result is an impressive improvement in the properties of each individual raw material in water disinfection. A connection between oxidation and oligodynamics has resulted in a product that can act on biofilms. The products have undergone difficult short and long-term testing with high standards and strict criteria at renowned independent institutes and universities. The excellent sanitizing properties of the product, proven by independent tests, have resulted in approval for unrestricted use in all application areas in many countries.
KP-DES® has records in the Ministry of Health for its pool-spa line and records in the DGSP for Agro and water treatment, also with the CAAE certificate that verifies us as usable in organic farming.
How does KP-DES® work for example on biofilm?
Biofilms are microbial organizations composed of micro-organisms that adhere to surfaces thanks to the secretion of an exopolymer. The exopolymer that forms the biofilm provides protection against biocides and drugs to bacteria. Thus, the bacteria in the biofilm have a slow but continuous growth under normal conditions. Meanwhile, it has been demonstrated that the bacteria in the biofilm are between 10 and 1000 times more resistant than if they are found alone in oxidizing biocides such as chlorine, iodine or ozone. This characteristic makes them difficult to remove or even control in water supply pipes.
Hydrogen peroxide penetrates this mucous layer where it breaks down into oxygen and water. Thanks to the stable formula of KP-DES®, this division between water and oxygen is delayed and gives rise to the formation of small gas bubbles that begin to join in a chain making larger bubbles in the matrix and causing the mucosa to break and peel off the surface. We would not achieve this with other hydrogen peroxide available on the market because it does not have enough stability.
Anaerobic germs (germs incompatible with oxygen such as gram-positive cocci, peptococci, peptoreptococci, eubacteria, gram-negative cocci such as Enterobacteriaceae, streptococci and staphylococci, yeasts, spores, enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, free amoebas, which use or even do not use oxygen for their metabolism ) are removed much more quickly with KP-DES®, as excess oxygen is added.
What makes us different from other hydrogen peroxides? Hydrogen peroxide in its normal state in which it is marketed and transported is very unstable and decomposes easily, it is mainly affected by temperature, the pH value and by the presence of other impurities. KP-DES® adds a food-grade stabilizer to its formula to increase stability (through a secret method) and delay its decomposition, making it an active, stable disinfectant with a long-lasting shelf life.
