Solution against tinder on the vine

For years winegrowers have grappled with this increasingly common problem that can literally kill the vine in a few days.

It all begins during pruning, when wounds are caused in the wood, leaving it exposed to the invasion of this fungus that produces the parasitic disease with this name. It is in the same act by means of the scissors that we can spread the disease throughout the vine and quickly lose vines that go from being healthy and vigorous to completely dry and dead.

How can we identify it?

The symptoms of tinder are usually seen in the flowering season and discolorations can be seen in the leaves, mainly at the edges of the leaves, changing between yellowish and reddish tones, ending up drying the leaf that will eventually fall.

If we cut an arm of the vine we can see in the center the wood the yellow color surrounded by dark color, clearly the affection of this disease can be appreciated.

Precautions

The main precaution is to be careful during pruning, not using the same scissors between healthy strains and those affected.

Disinfection of tools between uses

Burning the pruning debris to prevent the spread of the fungus

Treat pruning wounds.

Preventive treatment after pruning.

Is there a solution after you are infected with this fungus?

Fortunately the answer is yes.

Our KP-DES hydrogen peroxide ® AGRO has been shown to work very satisfactorily in the treatment of tinder. Being a disease caused by a fungus, the action on it is clearly seen, by introducing oxygen, preventing its reproduction and causing death. It only takes a small gap in the vine to allow the product to penetrate and heal the wood.

Prevention after pruning by spraying has been shown in the fields to prevent the appearance of this problem and others such as mildew and powdery mildew.

As it is a product that does not leave toxic residues, it does not negatively affect the plantation and favors the oxygenation of the land, helping to quickly produce new green shoots.
